Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
  • The Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Windows 11 and current Windows 10 already have it.
  • A supported game on PC, in 16:9, with the English interface.
  • For written recaps: your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key. Everything else works without one.

"Windows protected your PC"

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen warns the first time you run it. Click More info, then Run anyway. The whole app is open source, and the release is built by a public GitHub workflow. You can compare the SHA-256 above with the one on the release page.

Upgrading and uninstalling

A newer installer upgrades in place. It closes a running copy first and ends its session properly. Uninstalling from Settings → Apps keeps your sessions unless you tell it otherwise. They live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\previously-on.

Something not working?

Run previously-on-cli.exe check from a terminal in the install folder. It tests OCR, capture and the window on your machine. Paste its output into an issue.
